We might speak the same language but there are differences in cutoms and culture. I've lived in another country and in several States and have brought back beautiful memories of all places; if your heart is open, this is possible. I have such beautiful memories of Colorado because I continue to make new, happy ones to replace the bad. You are more than a beautiful memory to me; you are the beauty of Life, itself. I love you...:-)

DebbieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-613859325326147935.post-24370793161556533952011-09-15T20:47:33.108-07:002011-09-15T20:47:33.108-07:00Hi Micheline,
Thank you for sharing your interest...Hi Micheline,

Thank you for sharing your interesting story and your views on our common humanity. Your writings reveal that same compassionate individual I find you to be in person. You have a wonderful appreciation of all things around you, be it from the past or your present experiences on the road. You are blessed with many gifts.

JohannaJohanna Celluccihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02105086805733244807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-613859325326147935.post-30263853791362689732011-09-15T16:51:40.599-07:002011-09-15T16:51:40.599-07:00Hi Michou,

The underlying theme of ... one must actively participate in everyday happenings when living in a foreign land to understand and appreciate the people ... reminded me of our short but most interesting China experience. A world so different not only linguistically but culturally.

It never ceased to amaze me at how much I could communicate with signs and body language, at least in simple things. Not so, however, for complex thoughts. In my early morning walks around the hospital perimeter, patients would cheer me on and hold up fingers to signal how many times I had gone around and a group of old men playing with singing yo yo's even invited the "round-eyed" stranger to participate.
