Thank you for the deep feelin...Michou Chouchou,

Thank you for the deep feelings you share in the pieces you wrote about both Celeste and I.

Nazih told me that I had received Emails but I was deep into taming the Miami Jungle that our back garden had become. As you wrote, garden has a way of engulfing me. As I am now answering you I am looking at What is left of my hands after all of the days trimming and uprooting. Why do I feel so good when my hands looks so bad? Only gardeners know why, we have strange priorities...

Thank you for honoring our sisterly bonds and so many shared memories of people so dear to us, most of them now no longer sharing our planet. Memories of beloved places now destroyed, of mountains now bare. What is left are the lessons learned from both the good and bad times of life in Haiti and the many friendships that endured like the one we have with Celeste or Josseline.

We have been blessed with great parents and I have been blessed with a great Sister. You have shared your love of Art, books poetry and writing at such early age. Later in life you have demonstrated courage, a dignified grace when life brought you pressures. A sense of gratefulness when it brought you the many gifts of nature, be it landscapes, animals, flowers or the simple joy of sharing with friends always managing to share the beauty that you create and give back in so many forms, so many medium.

Thank you for the memories and the best is yet to come. What about Italy?

Sending you love,

Your sisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-613859325326147935.post-38971425791194842922010-05-26T19:38:56.365-07:002010-05-26T19:38:56.365-07:00As you said, a sister needs not be from your paren...As you said, a sister needs not be from your parents but for the joy and pleasure of having someone who shares our values and our mind and most of all our feelings.
You can pick a sister among your friends and let her be your close companion along the way. My so good friend is like my sister in spirit.
MichelineMichelinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08558486718535284307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-613859325326147935.post-45560171720158715932010-05-26T14:34:28.056-07:002010-05-26T14:34:28.056-07:00Dear Micheline,

I enjoyed reading your heartfelt thoughts about "Friendship" and "Sisterhood," especially your exquisite descriptions of Peru and Bogota. It makes me get even more excited about an upcoming reunion with my 86 year old mother and three siblings, who are also some of my best friends. Smile. I, too, have awakened to the brilliant magenta hues of sunrise that you described in "The Connection."
AmyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
